Hi All,
Just in the process of moving us again, and getting us IPv6 ready.
At some point I'm going to move the database over to the new server.
The process affecting everyone will go like this:
I'll disable the forum. You'll see a message that the forum is currently unavailable due to system maintenance. At the same time, I'll be making changes that tell the Internet to start looking at the new location of the forums. Those changes *should* be visible to some of you in a matter of minutes. Most of you I would expect to see it within 3 hours. For some, it may be longer for a whole lot of technical reasons that we have no control over (and are for the most part, only the fault of the distributed way naming works over the internet).
If you happen to see it while I'm importing the database on the new system, you may get a page full of errors, or get the forums up looking like they normally do (the obvious preferred choice).
This all should be pretty painless, and will require nothing on your part. For most of you, you'll never even notice the move!
