Angus Extended TV Edit

Postby MovieFan1981 » Thu Feb 04, 2010 6:57 pm

Greetings Everyone!!!

It's been a while since I saw this movie, and it was always one of my favorites so I bought a copy of the VHS on Ebay. I was disappointed to find that some scenes I liked were missing. I don't know if they still do, but stations like TNT and TBS used to run this movie with some deleted footage readded back in. I don't know if this question borderlines on piracy or not, if it does I apologize, but I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the TV version. I'd love to see the movie again as I remember it.

Not that the theatrical edit is *bad* or anything, it just feels like something's missing when I watch it....

It is better to get it on dvd now, if you have a region 1 or 0 player. But I'm not sure if this is an actual uncut version. It would be nice if the dvd was independant from being a 'Warner Bros collection' so it could have plenty of extras if there were any. I do have it on VHS, but I don't think I am aware of any scenes that were missing or were considered a cut scene.

TNT/TBS did have a few extra scenes, but nothing of signifigance or Ariana based. Great if you were a fan of the Angus/Grandpa dynamic.

There was that one extended scene where she actually stops and tries talking to Angus at the water fountain, the VHS makes her seem like a bitch and just ignore him and walk by. Those extra bits added alot to the story I thought, gotta love grandpa Ivan! Screw em!

George C Scott is always excellent whatever role he plays. That extra scene does not sound that it would have worked, some dvds in the past used to include extra scenes into a seperate section - I haven't noticed any other dvd these days that still do it. The film Cruel Intentions was an example, where you could view an extra scene where the main guy acted like a jerk and it would not have justified him and the girl getting it together. But still, if they would include extra scenes that don't fit into the film Angus into a seperate special feature then we won't miss one ounce of Ariana. 8)
